All Shrine Locations and Solutions

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has 152 Shrine locations to find and complete on its two maps – 120 on the Surface and 32 in the Sky. There are no Shrines in the Depths but there are Lightroots to discover that act as fast travel points similar to Shrines. Each shrine contains a mini-dungeon of puzzles to solve and loot including at least one Treasure Chest and a Light of Blessing.

In this TotK Shrine Guide you'll find walkthroughs for shrines, and importantly, how to get to them. Some shrines are hidden in caves or even off the map, locked away by a shrine quest. Landing in Hyrule with little to no direction as to which Shrines are the closest or easiest can be a bit daunting, so we've also put together a list of the Best Shrines to Complete First.

Click or tap on a name below for a full shrine walkthroughs and puzzle solutions including screenshots and video guide. Each Shrine guide shows the location of every Treasure Chest in each Shrine as well.

Click or tap a link below to jump to a particular region's shrine list.

Collect 4 Lights of Blessing to bring to a Goddess Statue (like the one in the Emergency Shelter in Lookout Landing) to expand your Heart Containers or Stamina bar.

TOTK Shrines contain a variety of challenges: Some are small dungeons that feature a central puzzle theme that exercise your skills like Ascension, Ultra Hand, and Recall. Others contain Constructs that test Link's combat skills and range from relatively easy to fairly difficult.

There are also "free" shrines: These shrines don't have puzzles themselves, but may be a reward for Shrine Quests or accomplishing another feat, like merely reaching a difficult-to-reach Shrine.

You can use our Tears of the Kingdom Interactive Map to find all of the Shrines, this page links to locations and puzzle solutions as well, but here are tips for finding Shrines:

There are four shrines to find on the Great Sky Island.

Shrine Location: This is a cave shrine. To get to it, you'll need to find the entrance to Crenel Peak Cave. There are two entrances to this shrine, one way easier than the other. For the easy one, go toward Moor Garrison Ruins (southeast of Crenel Peak) and just north of it on the slope of Crenel Peak you'll find an entrance to Crenel Peak Cave. See the Jojon Shrine guide for more specific location directions.

Shrine Location: The Serutabomac Shrine is behind Hyrule Castle on the northeast side of the floating island. One of the best ways to get here early on is by using the Lookout Landing Skyview Tower to get high above the castle then glide over. This is easier still with more stamina and if you've completed the challenge in Rito. Glide over to the long entryway on the first floor of the castle that leads to the throne room. Walk out the exit that leads northeast. There are some good weapons here, though, so be sure to explore!

Once outside climb anything to get some height and glide down and over to the northeastern most part of the now-island and you'll see the shrine on the B1 level of the dungeon.

To get to this shrine, you'll need to find a cave under Mount Hylia. Its entrance is by the waterfall at the start of the River of the Dead. If you approach the area from the Temple of Time Ruins, look just to the west of the waterfall, and you should see a Blupee. Cross to it (we recommend climbing up to the east side of the waterfall and gliding over to dodge enemies and skip trying to cross the water). Follow the Blupee, and it'll disappear not long after you spotted it. Follow the path behind the waterfall, and you'll get the notification that you've discovered the River of the Dead Waterfall Cave.

Approach the edge of the island and leap off using the button prompt. Guide link through all the rings. If you miss one, land in the water below, or on the island with the water, and talk to the Zonai construct and it will warp you back to the top for another chance.

If you complete the rings, the Shrine will appear on the sky island near the construct.

Shrine Location: Kimayat Shrine is in plain sight on the surface just north and east of the Death Mountain peak. It will be a hike to reach it from any tower. If you have access to Momosik Shrine on Death Mountain you can float down from there. Otherwise it is a long journey from Ulri Mountain Skyview Tower to far north Deep Akkala.

Shrine Challenge: Tap to Reveal

Shrine Location: From Ulri Mountain Skyview Tower, launch into the air and turn southeast. Your goal is to get to the small island next to the floating sphere – but it may be outside of your stamina range, so land on the eastern tip of the large island away from the enemy boss stalking the platform.

Here you’ll find a Zonai hovercraft-like device pre-built for the taking. First, add all the extra batteries nearby by using Ultrahand to glue them to the hovercraft. Head right for the sphere in the sky and land on the island with the rock launcher and gumball-machine-like Zonai Device Dispenser next to it. You should have one battery remaining of the six you started out with. Nice! Activate the Natak shrine platform and you will begin The Sokkala Sky Crystal Shrine Quest.

Shrine Location: Gikaku Shrine is high above the spiral-shaped Rist Peninsula in the Akkala Sky. There is no easy way to get there without spare Zonai equipment. Starting from Ulri Mountain Skyview Tower, launch into the air and look for a small island with a circular pool and a tower on it. Paraglide to this island. SAVE YOUR GAME, as it's easy to mess up the next part of your journey. There are Zonai device parts here, but not nearly enough to get you to the northeast islands and Gikaku Shrine. To reach it, you’ll need three Fans, a Wing, a Controller, and two Batteries. The Wing and one Fan can be found on the island. The rest you’ll have to bring along from Zonai Device dispensers. Create a plane with three fans, a controller and two batteries. To get started you’ll need to use Ultrahand to move the plane into the air, and then safely back to the ground on the northeaster edge of the peninsula, then get on the wing, use Recall to lift you up and over into the air.

Deactivate recall and hop on the Controller. Pilot up and towards the nearest northeastern island. You should easily gain enough distance and height with two batteries and three fans to reach the island with the Gikaku Shrine platform. Activate the shrine pad so you can fast travel here. This will begin The Sky Mine Crystal Shrine Quest.

Shrine Location: Mogisari Shrine is located on the south side of the Lomei Sky Labyrinth in the far, far northeast corner of Hyrule. To get there from the surface, the closest tower is the Ulri Mountain Skyview Tower, but it's a LONG WAY to the Shrine. You will either have create and eat a lot of stamina-increasing food to get there, or use Zonai devices.

Your target either way is a small sky island to the southwest of the labyrinth with a tower and a pool of water on it.

If you choose the stamina route: You’ll need about 4 rings of stamina to get here with the paraglider from the Skyview Tower. Cook these items and float to the island with the pool, north of the tower. This is the North Akkala Sky Archipelago.

If you choose the Zonai device route: Start at the Gikaku Shrine (go to the Gikaku Shrine Guide to see how to get there from the Skyview Tower). Use the stone launcher to get up to the second level of the Sky Mine. Here is a floating Zonai platform with two rockets and a Construct on it. Kill the Construct and get on the platform. Affix the two rockets to its surface, aimed at the North Akkala Sky Archipelago. Now, with the rockets firmly affixed, move the platform with Ultrahand allll the way to the north side of the island.

Get on the platform and activate the rockets to take you about half of the way to the island. From here you are high enough that you should be able to float down. If you have no stamina expansions, try using another rocket, or fan, affixed to the platform. Now, safely on the small island in the North Akkala Sky Archipelago, you will need an air ship to get you to the Labyrinth entrance above. Luckily, there's one here. Among the Small Fairies is a perfectly useable fan-plane, and look down the steps on the north side for tons of extra batteries. A total of 8 batteries will get you there easily. The last leg of the journey will be assisted by low gravity as well!

Shrine Location: This Shrine is related to the Starview Island puzzle which involves mirrors and light beams inside a massive sphere with light, strange moon gravity – to get to this sphere, start at Gerudo Highlands Skyview Tower. Launch into the sky and look for a small island with a pool of water and tower nearby. Here you’ll find a single moveable platform with two rockets on it. Kill the Construct that's guarding it. Get on the platform and attach one rocket to the center, fins down. Save the other for now, leaving it unattached. Activate the rocket and you’ll launch straight into the air, almost higher than the Skyview Island sphere. Now, take the other rocket and attach it a 45 degree angle and point the tip at the sphere. This will pull the platform up and a bit towards the sphere. Because this area is low gravity you can get a jump in and a paraglide to the top of the sphere. On the far side is the entrance to Skyview Island.

Shrine Location: The journey to Siyamotsus Shrine is a bit of a long one, and you will need either Zonai devices (a Fan or Rockets) and/or Stamina-increasing food (lots of Stambulbs are found on the East Gerudo Sky Archipelago to help) to reach it (unless you have 3 or more rings of Stamina). Siyamotsus Shrine is located on the north side of the labyrinth called South Lomei Castle in the southwest corner of Hyrule.

It's easiest to start this journey from Rakoshog Shrine (see the Rakoshog Shrine guide for how to get here) on the East Gerudo Sky Archipelago, or from the Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower. You want to get to the island in the south of this chain, below the Rakoshog Shrine. Here you will find several Zonai floating platforms. These are advantageous as they don't lose altitude like a Wing, and one in particular has two rockets already on it. SAVE YOUR GAME. Leave one rocket and smack the attached one to lift high into the air. Use the other rocket to pull your platform closer to the large cube in the distance where the shrine is located. Attach it at a 45 degree angle pulling you up and towards the cube. Now, from your lofty perch, you can either attach a fan or a rocket to get closer from your inventory, or paraglide to the shrine using stamina and stamina-increasing food to extend your glide.

The cave entrance is blocked by ice. You can destroy the ice columns with Fire Fruit, or you can simply hold a weapon with the fire element up to it. This could be done by making a fire with wood and flint then catching the weapon on fire, or, even better, attaching something like a Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horn to a weapon. Regardless, you'll be melting a fair amount of ice here, so be prepared.

Shrine Location: Since this shrine is on a low-flying Sky Island, it’ll take some ingenuity to get there. One method involved standing on top of the fallen piece of Sky Island on the south side of the small mountain south of the shrine (location 1255, -1034, 0144), Recalling it, and then jumping off and gliding to the shrine once the Recall takes it high enough.

Make sure to drop inside the small cage on the Morok Shrine Sky Island (location 1189, -0793, 0135), as there will be a chest inside holding a Large Zonai Charge. You can then stand on top of the spring and strike it with your sword to spring you out of the cage. You can then enter the shrine.

Alternatively, you can approach from the ground and climb up to the island by the roots dangling off its side. Be careful, though. Gloom Hands roam around the area, though they can't reach you if you're on the platform connected to the dangling roots.
